The Chai Tea Vol. 11

Spilling 18---actually 36---ways to Support Our Tribe this Week!

Shavua Tov everyone!

There are A LOT of new faces around here this week, so while I’m going to share 18 ways to support our tribe, I’m going to make it a double chai kind of week, bringing back 18 favorites from the past few months for the newbies!

As I shared on Instagram over the weekend, there are MANY ways that you can speak up and speak out for the Jewish community, one of which is supporting Jewish-owned businesses and organizations that benefit the Jewish community. Check out the post I made, here, and make sure you share it with others—-especially your non-Jewish friends. The reason I created this post was because some of mine were asking how they could help and support given the horrific events of the past week.

Just a quick reminder as you read through this week’s issue. My ask of you when it comes to what I share here is VERY SIMPLE:

FOLLOW THEM, SHARE THEM WITH YOUR FRIENDS + COMMUNITY, or BUY FROM THEM.

Show them the love.

If you like what you see here, share this newsletter with your friends, encourage them to subscribe too! We’re better together…and the larger our community around here, the bigger the difference we can make.

If you have a business we should meet, please pass them this form to fill out. Questions or comments—-feel free to hit reply and let me know. It’s my goal to continue to highlight Jewish-owned businesses and I would love for you to share your favorites with me too!

Are you ready to put some good back into this world?

The tea’s been brewing…and now I’m ready to spill.

See you next week.

Same time, same place.

XX,

Lindsay Pinchuk, Founder of The Chai Tea

In no particular order…first I’m spilling 18 ways you can support our tribe this week.

THESE JEWISH-OWNED BUSINESSES WERE VANDALIZED THIS WEEK, LET’S SUPPORT THEM… This week is the anniversary of Kristellnacht, and these Jewish-owned businesses were vandalized—-bricks and stones were thrown through their windows, graffiti painted on many. They need our love and support right now.

UPCOMING EVENTS, EXHIBITS AND MORE…

  1. I want to give a shoutout to the Chicago Jewish Alliance. On Friday night they confronted hate and bigotry head on outside of the Michael Rappaport show here in Chicago. The words hurled at them were infuriating, but they stood tall. I want to remind you that this coalition of incredible humans are volunteers—-each of them has a full time job in addition to fighting hate for the Jewish community. Please FOLLOW THEM and show them some love for their bravery this weekend and each and every day.

  2. October H8TE: This new documentary centered around the rise in antisemitism on college campuses is a MUST SEE for everyone. Coming up you can attend a screening on November 25th at the JCC MetroWest in Orange, NJ. More to follow.

  3. NOVA EXHIBIT: Many of you ask continuously when the Nova Exhibit is coming to a city near you. This week two new locations were announced: MIAMI is coming up next and an abbreviated pop-up exhibit will be coming to metro-Detroit this month. CLICK HERE for DETROIT INFO CLICK HERE to receive updates on MIAMI (opens on December 18th.)

  4. ADL In Concert Against Hate is Monday November 18th in Washington, D.C: Originally launched thirty years ago to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Holocaust, this event continues to celebrate the brave actions of the heroes among us every year. This year Scooter Braun will be receiving the ADL Spotlight Award for his work in bringing the Nova Exhibit to the United States so that we can bear witness to what happened on October 7th. For more information and to get tickets, CLICK HERE. FOLLOW the ADL for concert coverage if you can’t make it!

  5. KINDERTRANSPORT, RESCUING CHILDREN ON THE BRINK OF WAR an exhibit at the Illinois Holocaust Museum: An incredible story of those righteous living among us who stood up for what was right and helped to save thousands of children on the bring of WW2. Many of whose parents were murdered by the Nazi regime. MORE INFO ON THIS POWERFUL EXHIBIT
