Shabbat Shalom

Did you hear Julia Haart on my podcast?

SHABBAT SHALOM!

There were so many times this week when I felt like I was playing whack-a-mole with antisemitism: from the Northbrook Library debacle (thankfully that event was cancelled!), to the Artists for Ceasefire petition, and the videos of the violent protests—-I know that it can be a lot sometimes.

But I wanted to talk about some of the positives from this week.

I got to go home, as in to my hometown of Detroit, where I spoke to an inter-generational room filled with 125+ women about the power of speaking up. Besides the fact hat Detroit has one of the best Jewish communities in the world, it felt amazing to be home and to be making a difference. PLUS, my parents were both there and so where many of my friends. It was honestly wonderful. I’ll be sharing more about it next week.

The community of the North Shore of Chicago came together to express outrage for the propaganda based showing of “Israelism” at the Northbrook Public Library. And while it was the organizers who cancelled the showing because they didn’t want to provide insurance and other safety precautions for their event, seeing the Jewish AND non-Jewish community come together was incredibly spectacular.

I also got to celebrate TWO mitzvahs this week. Last weekend was a family friend’s bar mitzvah and this weekend is the bat mitzvah of my niece. Just another simple reminder that we MUST live life and celebrate to the fullest extent.

And if you missed it, I had an amazing member of our community, Julia Haart, on my podcast, Dear FoundHer… this week. This conversation has something for everyone, make sure you give it a listen.

As we round out the week, I want to direct you over to my Instagram, where earlier today I shared a BEAUTIFUL piece of jewelry from My Story Jewelry, and the chance to win one of THREE that we’re giving away.

I hope that you can take a minute this weekend and reflect on the week that was, channeling your inner strength to start the next week strong.

Thank you for being here, I truly believe that we are better together—-and the larger the community around here, the bigger impact we can make. If you have a friend who you think would enjoy the tea we spill, make sure you send them this link to become a subscriber.

Shabbat Shalom,
